Webdesk: On Saturday, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari underlined that Pakistan was committed to deepening ties with Russia.

FM Bilawal told Al-Jazeera during his visit to Iraq that they intended to remain neutral in the Ukraine conflict.

He said last year’s floods that ravaged big sections of Pakistan were significant for the world.

The foreign minister said he was sure that the country’s people will overcome economic and political problems like climate change, Russian-Ukraine tensions, and local issues to establish a better future.

“It affected 33 million people and caused huge financial losses that had far-reaching effects on Pakistan’s economy,” he continued.

He said they had organized a summit in Geneva with the UN to construct climate-resilient Pakistan and were working to fulfill $9 to $10 billion pledges.

The foreign minister said that bilateral interaction with global financial institutions had arranged huge amounts of finances.

However, they were seeking to resuscitate IMF program.

The foreign minister also dismissed charges of misuse of monies donated for natural disaster zones. They said they were frivolous and unproven. He said they were worthless.
