Biparjoy hits India-Pakistan border

Karachi: Cyclone Biparjoy hit the Gujarat coast near Jakhau port and the Pakistan-India border, according to the PMD. The cyclone is about 130 kilometres from Keti Bandar.

Gale-force gusts are battering Thatta’s coast. Authorities evacuated about 78,000 people from high-risk regions because to the imminent danger. To protect lives and property, Keti Bandar and Zero Point in Badin have been evacuated.

After weeks of heat, the dreaded cyclone arrived with little consequence. Karachi, Makli, Thatta, Badin, and other coastal cities received only modest rains, ending the protracted heatwave.

While, The cyclone’s intensity decreased, preventing severe rains. However, the breezes gave residents a break from the heat. The cyclone’s weakening reduced rainfall, easing concerns about severe weather.

Sindh’s forecast predicts beautiful weather today.

Moreover, The India Meteorological Department (IMD) downgraded Cyclone Biparjoy from “very severe” to “severe” after it hit Gujarat’s coastal districts. According to NDTV, the cyclone is presently on land near Saurashtra-Kutch. Rajasthan will get heavy rain today.

The cyclone’s strong rains and gusty gusts of 115–120 km/h damaged Gujarat’s Morbi district.

45 communities lost power due to 300 damaged electric poles. Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) officials say power is being restored in nine villages.

The cyclonic storm toppled trees and electric poles and injured 22 persons. By sunset in Rajasthan, the cyclone should subside into a depression.
