British Council IELTS Prize 2023 applications open

ISLAMABAD: The British Council has told people in Pakistan that they can now apply for the IELTS Prize 2023.

The British Council said that the yearly competition gives IELTS test-takers up to £5,000 to help pay for college in an English-speaking country.

While, Pakistani students who used IELTS to apply for bachelor or graduate school in Pakistan or abroad and will start their programme between January 2023 and March 2024.

But people from Pakistan, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka can also take the test and win the prize.

Through a tough application process in every country, three winners will chosen to receive cash prizes to help them with their studies.

Moreover, Amir Ramzan, the Country Director for the British Council in Pakistan, said this about the prize: “Our IELTS prize winners have used what they have learned from studying abroad to help their communities.”

“We helped these candidates directly by giving over 15,000 IELTS tests last year, which helped tens of thousands of other people.”

He also said, “We really believe that international study and collaboration are key to making the world a better place for everyone, and we’re proud to help these smart and ambitious people reach their goals.”

How to apply?

The British Council website says that this year’s prize is about “doing things in your own communities.”

The website said, “For the IELTS prize this year, we want to hear about how you are doing similar things in your own communities.”

On the website, its also written that there two steps to the entry process.

Step one of the application process: start writing! Filling out a long form is the first step in applying for the IELTS Prize.
Step two of the application: Start shooting!
Phase 1 applications must sent in by September 15, and Phase 2 movies must be sent in by October 15.

The website says that the winners of the IELTS Prize for 2023 will revealed in November of that year.
