ISLAMABAD: MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He expressed concerns over not being informed of critical national events.

The party said the meeting was part of the consultation process for forming a caretaker government.

The delegation included Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Dr. Farooq Sattar, Mustafa Kamal, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, and Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

The delegation claimed at the meeting that MQM-P not consulted on the crucial topic of the assembly’ dissolution. As well as only two major coalition members were preparing the proceedings.

The PM Media Wing stated they discussed the caretaker structure and the census.

Moreover, The official statement stated the MQM-P delegation congratulated the prime minister for personally monitoring ongoing development projects and urged him to complete them on time.

While, The MQM-P leaders praised the prime minister and his economic team for securing the IMF stand-by agreement.

Moreover, Sources stated the MQM-P delegation demanded notifying the census results, stating the next general election should be based on the new census, not the 2017 census.

The leaders suggested former Karachi commissioner Shoaib Siddiqui as Sindh caretaker chief minister. The Sindh Assembly leader and opposition leader would consult on this.
