Islamabad: The government has named Dr. Syrus Sajjad Qazi as the new foreign secretary. He will replace Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, who will step down on August 17 because he has reached the age of retirement.
The special secretary of Foreign Affairs is Dr. Syrus Qazi, who is a grade 22 top officer in the foreign service.
He has a lot of practise with both two-way and multiple-way diplomacy.
He was chosen for the foreign service because he had graduated from the King Edward Medical College in Lahore.
Qazi has also taken on important jobs at the offices.
He did a great job representing the country in important cities. Before going back to the city last year, his last job was as the country’s ambassador to Turkey.
Qazi will serve as the next foreign secretary until 2025.
Since Majeed was named foreign secretary in December of last year, Syrus was the most likely person to take the top job.
