Karachi:
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Sunday that city will be fully cloudy for the next 24 hours, but it might rain on and off.
The weather forecast department said that strong winds will blow into the city from the southwest at speeds of 15 to 25 km/h. The minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 27.4°C, and the maximum temperature is likely to reach 32°C.
The PMD said that the city’s humidity level is 81% right now.
Also, most of the country could have hot and muggy weather in the next twelve hours.
But northeast Punjab, the Pothohar area, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir are likely to get rain, wind, and thundershowers.
Some places in northeast Punjab, the Pothohar area, and Kashmir may also get heavy rain.
Likely to rain more
Saturday, the National Disaster Management Authority sent out a new warning about the weather for the next two days. It said that it was likely to rain in a lot of places around the country.
The NDMA wrote to X, “To fix the possible dangers, the public should be warned ahead of time, safety measures should be made public, and traffic towards sensitive areas should be monitored regularly.”
“Keep tools ready to use in case of an emergency. People who live in low-lying places should be moved, and plans should be made for that.”
In another Tweet, it said, “Rain can make local rivers move faster, which can cause flooding in cities. There is a good chance that the rivers and streams in Gilgit-Baltistan will have more water and more GLOF. Happens in dangerous mountain valleys.”
Yesterday, the NDMA also said, “There is a chance of thunderstorms in different parts of the country.” In coastal Sindh, it is hot and muggy, and it rains. Floods and landslides could happen in hilly parts of KP, Punjab, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir because of these rains.
