Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party: A new power group in Pakistani Politics

In the ever-changing political landscape of Pakistan, the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has emerged as a major force, promising stability and change. This party, founded by Jahangir Tareen on June 8, 2023. It has rapidly captured the nation’s attention due to its unique inception.

IPP founded in response to the escalating conflict between Jahangir Tareen and Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The backdrop further coloured by the May 9 protests. Which precipitated the resignation of several PTI politicians and the formation of the new political entity. When approximately one hundred leaders from across Pakistan convened at a dinner hosted by Aleem Khan, a turning point occurred. The existence of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party revealed at a meeting in Lahore.

In his speech, Jahangir Tareen expressed his desire to adhere to Quaid-e-Azam’s teachings, eliminate political and social divisions. As well as, he intended to implement comprehensive political and economic reforms.

Leadership and vision:

Jahangir Tareen’s leadership role in the party is significant. Despite the fact that he is disqualified from holding an official position. He frequently referred to as the “chief patron” of the party. Tareen announced Aleem Khan as the first President of IPP. While, Aamir Mehdi Kiani as the first Secretary-General. Aun Chaudhry as the Additional Secretary-General and Spokesperson, on June 12, 2023. This heterogeneous leadership reflects IPP’s intention to draw from a broad range of skills and experience.

Vision of the party is based on the principles of unity, stability, and change. IPP endeavours to carry out the teachings of Quaid-e-Azam, to harmonise the political landscape, and to implement reforms that would contribute to both political and economic progress.

The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party submitted a formal application for party registration with the ECP on July 18, 2023. As part of the process, the party selected an eagle as its electoral symbol, which represents a lofty vision and lofty goals.

Punjab Regional Committees:

In an effort to establish a formidable political presence, the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has adopted a strategic approach by establishing regional committees in each of Punjab’s divisions. With a strong emphasis on unity and representation. These committees seek to resolve regional issues and engage local leaders. As well as build a solid foundation for the growth of the party.

Lahore Division:

The Lahore Division committee is led by a dynamic group of individuals who contribute their knowledge and experience. Murad Raas, Mian Khalid Mehmood, Muhammad Shoaib Siddiqui. Mian Jaleel Ahmed, Rai Aslam Kharal, and Muhammad Amin Zulqernain are members of the committee. Certainly, This committee equipped to connect with the populous metropolis of Lahore. As well as spread the IPP’s message of unity and progress thanks to its diverse leadership.

Rawalpindi Division committee

Raja Yawar Kamal Khan, Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan, and Sheikh Tariq head the Rawalpindi Division committee for the IPP. While, Using their combined knowledge and insight, they intend to address the unique challenges and aspirations of Rawalpindi Division, ensuring that the party’s message resonates with the residents of this region.

Faisalabad Division

The IPP Faisalabad Division committee is led by Muhammad Ajmal Cheema, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, Chaudhry Ali Akhter Khan, Kashif Ashfaq, and Sheikh Yaqoob. Moreover, This team brings a plethora of experience to the table and focuses on fostering positive change and growth in the thriving Faisalabad region.

Gujranwala Division

The IPP Gujranwala Division committee is led by Rana Nazeer Ahmed Khan, Syed Saeed ul Hassan, Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq, and Mamoon Jaffar Tarar.

Dera Ghazi Khan Division

Abdul Hayi Dasti, Niaz Gishkori, Qaisar Abbas Khan Magsi, and Syed Rafaqat Ali Gillani comprise the IPP’s Dera Ghazi Khan Division committee’s leadership.

Sahiwal Division:

Moreover, The Sahiwal Division committee includes luminaries such as Nauman Ahmad Langrial, Naurez Shakoor, Mohammad Shah, Dewan Akhlaq, Dewan Azmat, and Mehar Shad Kathiya. While, This group intends to resolve the unique requirements of the Sahiwal Division and contribute to IPP’s overall mission.

Bahawalpur Division

Syed Mobeen Ahmed and Tehseen Gardezi are in charge of the IPP’s Bahawalpur Division committee.

Certainly, The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party’s emergence has added a new dimension to Pakistan’s political landscape. Meanwhile, With a foundation rooted in the challenges and dynamics of contemporary politics, the party seeks to redefine the narrative of stability and advancement. IPP has the potential to carve out a unique course in the evolution of Pakistan’s political landscape. As it is led by a mix of seasoned politicians and newcomers and has a unique vision for unity and reform. Moreover, As the party navigates the party registration process and beyond, its true impact on the nation’s future remains to be determined.
