Mumbai: The mysterious death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has taken another legal turn as a Mumbai magistrate court has issued a formal notice to actress Rhea Chakraborty, asking her to respond to the CBI’s closure report.
According to Indian media reports, Magistrate R.D. Chavan directed the issuance of notice to Rhea during the hearing of a complaint filed against Sushant’s sisters. She has been instructed to submit her response by August 12.
The CBI submitted its closure report in March 2025, concluding that no criminal conspiracy or foul play could be established in Sushant’s death.
Rhea had earlier accused Sushant’s sisters of providing him medication without proper medical oversight, allegedly using a fake prescription. She claimed the medicines could have negatively impacted his mental health, as Sushant was reportedly suffering from bipolar disorder.
The case involves multiple charges under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act). Actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment in June 2020, triggering nationwide controversy and calls for justice.Ask ChatGPT
