Peshawar: On Sunday night, police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa successfully repelled two attacks on outposts in remote areas of the region. The first attack took place near Jandola police station and was carried out by dozens of militants armed with automatic weapons. The police, with the help of local residents, were able to fight back and the attackers were forced to flee after about 10 minutes of exchanging fire.

The Inspector General of Police, Moazzam Jah Ansari, praised the bravery of the police in the area and reminded that police forces across the province are prepared to respond strongly to any kind of attack. The IGP also ordered a search operation to find any attackers who may have been killed or injured during the incident.

Another attack took place a few hours later in Daraban, Dera Ismail Khan, but was quickly repelled by police and army forces. There were no reported casualties. These attacks come after a series of similar incidents in the area in recent weeks, but the police have been successful in defending against them.
