DI Khan: Eight people, including two women, were injured in a bomb attack on a vehicle carrying a wounded police official in the Ghulam Khan area along the border with Afghanistan on Sunday. The attack took place as the police official, Assistant Sub-Inspector Aminullah, was being shifted to the hospital after being attacked inside his home earlier that morning. The bomb detonated near the vehicle, causing injuries to eight people, three of whom are in critical condition.
The injured were taken to the Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in district Bannu, where they are being treated. A police team arrived at the scene of the attack to begin investigating the incident.
In related news, police in Tank and Lakki Marwat successfully repulsed attacks on their respective police stations. In the Gomal Bazaar area of district Tank, militants armed with advanced weapons stormed the police station, but were met with a swift response from the police. The police chief praised the bravery of the police personnel and announced a cash reward and certificate for those who participated in the gunfight.
In district Lakki Marwat, police observed the movement of suspected militants through thermal imaging cameras and started firing at them. An exchange of fire took place, causing the militants to flee. No casualties were reported in this incident either.
