The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab called on all commissioners to come before the watchdog on Saturday with the necessary paperwork for projects that were initiated under the administrations of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and Usman Buzdar.

Following his recent appointment, Punjab ACE Director General Sohail Zafar Chatta also requested information on development initiatives started during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) administration.

According to people familiar with the issue, top officers who worked for the Punjab administration when Buzdar and Pervaiz Elahi were appointed to the inquiry in the first phase along with the records.

According to the sources, ACE also threatened senior officers with arrest if they refused to participate.

According to the reports, ACE Punjab has also reopened investigations into the Rawalpindi Ring Road issue and the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML), Sheikh Rashid.

The sources further stated that the cabinet members of Buzdar and Elahi will be called in for questioning during the second round.

Inquiries and arrests are expected to begin the following week, they said. Also, according to the sources, until March 15 corrupt officers and former ministers were to be detained.

Also, all of the anti-corruption department’s cases filed against Farrah Gogi have been reopened.

Also, according to the sources, records from the offices of former ministers Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid, Raja Basharat, Murad Raas, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, and others have also been sought. Anwar Shah, a Punjab ACE officer who stole departmental files, is missing, according to reports.

The anti-corruption organisation has also requested all Punjab housing society information. The department wants to know how many housing societies received assistance under former chief ministers Buzdar and Elahi’s leadership.
