LAHORE: Police lodged FIR against the senior leadership of PTI, including its chairman IK. FIR is lodged on charges of “attacking police” and “using foul language” against national security agencies.
According to the FIR, a group of at least 300–400 people attacked state institutions with violence and profanity.
The lodged FIR contains Sections 147, 149, 353, 186. 302, 324, 188, 427, 290, 291, and 109 of the PCC as well as Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
According to the FIR, the PTI workers mistreated the institutions on the orders of Imran Khan, Hassan Niazi, Hammad Azhar, Memoodul Rasheed, Farrukh Habib, Fawad Chaudhry, and Ejaz Chaudhry.
According to the report, the mob threw stones at the police and attacked them with wooden sticks. Due to this attack, 13 police officers and six PTI sustained injuries.
Clashes with Police
In skirmishes on Wednesday that left several people hurt on both sides, Punjab police fired tear gas shells and charged Imran Khan supporters with batons.
The former premier is demanding earlier elections since voting of No Confidence. Elections will take place later this year as scheduled, according to his successor, who rejected the demand.
Many locations near Khan’s Lahore residence were subjected to significant teargas bombardment by the police, according to live TV footage, and several of the workers were seen bleeding.
Khan is due in court on March 13 to answer allegations that from 2018 to 2022. He illegally sold state goods while in government.
Following the altercations, PTI called off the gathering.
