Lahore: Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique, said on Sunday that the PML-N would change the way judges are chosen. He hopes to set up a new judicial system through parliamentary laws if it got back into power.
After the PML-N workers’ convention in Bhatta Chowk, he talked to the media. During that he said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would soon be back in Pakistan. Nawaz will give an overview of the new economy and justice system, he added.
“Nawaz Sharif is coming back; Babbar Sher [the lion] will be back in the country soon, and the PML-N will create a new justice system under his leadership,” the minister said.
He said that when his party forms a government after the next election, we will change the way judges are chosen. He said this while giving more details about the changes to the court system.
Nawaz Sharif ‘s ouster was a plot because of an Iqama. He said that political parties would need to teach people about democracy.
He said that Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), didn’t understand politics. He was sad that the head of the PTI was such a saviour who played politics with dead bodies.
PML-N had been saying that the judiciary plays a biassed role in the politics of the country by favouring one person and ignoring the other.
In a harsh speech last month, PML-N Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz slammed former Supreme Court judges and said: “Does the dam waley baba (former chief justice Saqib Nisar) know where Pakistan is now? Do Baba Rehmat and [former CJP] Khosa sahib know how the country is doing now?”
