Webdesk: After winning the Oscar for best supporting actor for his role in “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” Ke Huy Quan thanked his co-stars in “The Goonies.”
Backstage at the Oscars, after he won the award for best supporting actor, he told the press that he owed his success to his co-stars in The Goonies.
Quan said that his Goonies co-stars have helped him a lot with his career comeback. In 1983, he played the role of Data, a guy who liked to come up with new ideas.
When asked what his younger self would think of where he is now, the actor said, “My younger self wouldn’t know how hard I had to work to get here. He was having the time of his life being a kid on a set, on a pirate ship, and going down a water slide. But right before the night began, one of my Goonies brothers, Corey Feldman, called.”
I was talking to Kerri Green, and Jeff Cohen is also here with me tonight. He was there to watch. I owe so much to all of them. Everyone there looks so happy. Sean Astin reached out to me, and so did Josh Brolin and Martha Plimpton. We’ll always be family. Goonies never say die” he added.
