Lahore: Imran Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, declared a March 19 power show at Minar-i-Pakistan. He announced it as the party’s election rally was ultimately held peacefully.
The party was unable to obtain relief from the Election Commission or the Lahore High Court. Party plead against the caretaker Punjab government’s order to enforce Section 144 in the provincial capital. Therefore the demonstration didn’t happen.
The interim Punjab administration enacted Section 144 in response to a Pakistan Super League match at the Qaddafi Stadium. Yet, in a notification issued on Sunday, the administration permitted the PTI to hold the demonstration today. Despite the fact that it posed a “high security risk” due to prior attack on the ex-prime minister.”
The authorization was granted in exchange for the organizer’s assurance that he would be held accountable for any unpleasant incidents. The notification also prohibited criticism of constitutional offices, such as the military and the courts.
Today’s election rally began in Zaman Park, with Imran driving a bulletproof vehicle.
Imran addressed the gathering from inside his truck, thanking PTI workers and fans for their participation, and announced that the Minar-i-Pakistan power show will take place on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
This will be his sixth rally at Minar-i-Pakistan in the past twelve years.
Imran stated that he will speak at the event and discuss how to remove the nation from its current problems. He urged the citizens of Lahore to begin preparing for the power display.
“It is evident from today’s rally why this foreign administration did not let our [prior] march on March 8,” he remarked, referring to the PTI’s plans.
Zille Shah
Imran also paid respect to PTI worker Ali Bilal, commonly known as Zille Shah.
“I’m sending a message on behalf of my nation to those responsible for his death that we will never forget or forgive you.
The leader of the PTI stated that he was not working for his own benefit, but for the people. He claimed that the “great criminals” in authority were seeking to evade the elections by registering cases against him and PTI officeholders in order to “disqualify us from the elections in some way.”
In addition, he commented on the recent public release of the Toshakhana gift records, stating that it was now evident “who was genuinely robbing the Toshakhana.”
The PTI uploaded videos of people surrounding Imran’s vehicle and showering it with petals.
The gathering then returned to Imran’s house in Zaman Park.
