Lahore: Law enforcers and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers battled on Tuesday. It happened as a large police contingent entered Zaman Park to arrest Imran Khan in the Toshakana case.
Chairman of the PTI urged his workers to continue fighting for the “rule of law”. He asked workers to ensure that they continue the effort regardless of the outcome.
Since yesterday, a team of Islamabad police has been in Lahore. Team is here in compliance with court orders to arrest the PTI leader, who faces many cases in different locations.
The police, while exercising caution, are firing water cannons to disperse party members as they advance in their pursuit of Khan’s arrest.
In accordance with court instructions, law enforcement officers are in Zaman Park, as a district and sessions court in Islamabad reinstated the former prime minister’s no-bail arrest warrant in the Toshakhana case on Monday.
The IHC suspended Khan’s non-bailable arrest warrant issued by the lower court due to the PTI chief’s persistent absence and ordered him to appear before the lower court on March 13; however, he once again failed to comply with the court’s orders.
This is the second time in less than ten days that police have appeared at Zaman Park to arrest the former prime minister.
A policeman sustained facial injuries as a result of the workers’ use of stone-throwing. Meanwhile, law enforcement officials have also arrested PTI employees.

DIG Operations Islamabad Shahzad Bukhari is in charge of the police force that has surrounded Khan’s apartment in the upmarket neighbourhood of the city.
The police official stated to the journalists, “We have arrived to execute the warrant. We are aware of the case’s specifics but cannot discuss it.”
A journalist asked the officer, “Where would you transport Imran Khan after he is arrested?”
This prompted DIG Bukhari to respond, “Let us first arrest him and then alert the media.”
The Islamabad police tweeted that anyone who is blocking the execution of court orders will be held accountable.
Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated that the party’s leadership is ready to find a “possible way out” to prevent further violence.
In a press conference held at Zaman Park, the vice chairman of the PTI urged the police not to “worsen the situation” and to speak with the party’s leadership.
“Exhibit the warrant. I will initially read and comprehend it. The top PTI politician informed police, “I will then communicate with Imran Khan and my attorneys.”
The leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said that court has already granted protective bail to Imran Khan. Describing the police action as an inappropriate response to yesterday’s gathering.
Qureshi remarked, “An arrest cannot be made” if a person has a protective bail. The PTI leader also inquired whether the authorities desired to delay the forthcoming elections.
Commenting on the police activity, he stated that the law enforcement officers arrived at Zaman Park with the intention of “shedding blood.”
The PTI leader extended a discussion invitation to the government, stating, “Talk to us, and we may surrender peacefully.”
He asserted that the police raided Khan’s home and added that the authorities are determined to harm him.
