Webdesk: Ushna Shah remarked on her tweet on the late actor Qavi Khan not winning a single award for lifetime achievement from the television business before to his death.
“Sigh! “I can’t believe I have to explain this,” Shah wrote in an Instagram Story. She began by emphasising that she had tweeted about the honours offered by private TV stations and not the yearly civil awards presented by the Pakistani government.
And he did not receive the prize for lifetime accomplishment that he was heartbreakingly anticipating. Qassim Mureed, Mushafiq Malik, and a few other individuals are aware of this anticipation. And hearing it hurt my heart as well,” remarked Shah. The Parizaad actor admitted that Khan “lives on as the greatest and nothing can change that, but the last drama industry honour he earned was when Feroze [Khan] took him on stage and shared his award (I may be mistaken)”
“I tweeted out of affection for him,” she stated. “I challenged us, the current, established, privatised theatrical industry and all the accompanying award shows, and asked us to do better. It is a regrettable omission, and only when we identify them can we correct them in the future.”
She concluded by asking, “What’s so awful about this?”
Previously, Shah had tweeted, “I have a question for the Pakistani drama industry: How many lifetime achievement awards did Qavi sahab earn before to his death? I have a question for the audience: how many deserving votes did he receive? “Rest in peace, Sir, we are sorry.”
In a subsequent tweet, she stated, “Qavi sahab has (justly) gotten numerous national civilian honours. I questioned my colleagues in the privatised drama industry. Let us present our legends with flowers while they are present. As an industry, we can always improve, including myself.”
Rabya Kulsoom
Rabya Kulsoom responded to this via a now-deleted tweet: “Factcheck: Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Pride of Performance, Nigar Awards, and PTV Award. He was honoured with millions of nominations and other accolades.
Kulsoom had added spitefully, “He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends.” Stop making everything significant.”
When Khan passed away, the newlywed Shah expressed her sorrow on social media. “Working with Qavi uncle has always been a dream,” she had tweeted.
Khan died on March 5th, 2023.
