PESHAWAR: Army Chief of Staff General Asim Munir urged for concord and cooperation among state institutions on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by ISPR, the army chief toured forward positions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. He visited border in the South Waziristan district and interacted with troops.
Gen. Munir admired the counter-terrorism operations. Also appreciated troops for providing a conducive environment for socio-economic growth. Both of which are essential for sustaining peace and stability, Said COAS.
In addition, he emphasised the significance of synergy between various state entities. As well as the significance of individuals in the fight against terrorism, according to the statement.
ISPR reported that Gen Munir laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-i-Shuhada in Wana and visited the formation headquarters. At formation HQ officers briefed him on operational, training, and security aspects of the formation as well as the status of different development projects in the amalgamated districts.
ISPR reported that the army chief stated that the sacrifices of martyrs will not be in vain and that peace would return to the country.
