LAHORE: The PTI leadership strongly condemned what they called “state terrorism” at the home of party leader Imran Khan. PTI leadership said that it was “part of a London plan to kill him.”
As Mr. Khan left his Zaman Park home in Lahore on Saturday to go see a judge in Islamabad. Afterward, a large group of police began searching his home.
At a press conference at the party’s office, Fawad Chaudhry, the leader of the PTI, said that Police did this operation in link to Maryam Nawaz’s plan to arrest Imran Khan.
“A woman who has never even run for councillor is setting the agenda for the government,” while referring to Ms. Sharif’s press conference on Friday,
He said that the operation went against court orders and caused chaos all over the country because PTI workers were pressuring the leadership to call for protests all over the country.
The leader of the PTI told party members to be ready for the final showdown and wait for Mr. Khan to tell them when to start protesting. Mr. Chaudhry also said that party leaders were going to Islamabad with Mr. Khan, but when they heard about the “cowardly attack,” they turned around and went back.
He also said that the whole country was suffering from inflation that had never been seen before. But the government’s only goal was to arrest the PTI chairman.
Mr. Chaudhry said that excavators were used to knock down the gates of the house while police officers climbed up the walls and tortured people inside. He said that the operation was a clear violation of the Lahore High Court’s orders. Police did not tell Imran Kishwar, who was the court’s designated focal person, about the raid.
