WEBDESK: When characters and actors blur, fans are fanatical. Sabeena Farooq, who plays Haya in the hit drama Tere Bin, addressed the insults and threats on Instagram. She warned YouTubers to avoid posting phoney content or be publically shamed.
She wrote on Saturday’s Instagram story that it was fine when it was just jokes but now it’s too much. “I’ve been generous and nice about my character in Tere Bin, joining you all in roast[ing] and memes but there is a limit to everything. My family is disturbed by your YouTube content and threats. “It’s just a character,” she said.
“I implore you to quit taking out your anger on me and I curse the individuals earning off of making false YouTube videos,” she added to the “idiots” who don’t know the difference between a character and an actor. If I’m so horrible, stop following me and skip Haya’s scenes. One more threat and I’ll publicly post them with your name and YouTube channels.”
Farooq Haya, Murtasim’s cousin, loves him. Murtasim marries Meerab (Yumna Zaidi), who takes time to love him. Haya is jealous and attempts to keep them apart as their love grows. She uses black magic to do that.
The December 28 drama became a hit. It stars Zaidi and Ali and is directed by Siraj ul Haq. Bushra Ansari, Sohail Sameer, Hira Soomro, Fazila Qazi, and others star. Tere Bin is about two people from diverse origins who meet through a twist. Meerab rejects Murtasim’s familial traditions and societal restrictions. How they will reconcile is the conflict-filled drama.
