Islamabad: In the judge-threatening case, the arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan were put on hold until March 24 by a local court on Monday.
Since Additional Session Judge Faizan Haider Gilani was on holiday. The case was put on hold and did not move forward.
The judge had previously put a hold on the arrest warrants for the PTI chairman, Imran Khan. Because he was hiding out at his home in Lahore, Zamar Park, during a police operation. Khan did not show up in court until today.
In this case, Senior civil judge Rana Mujahid Rahim issued an arrest warrant for Khan on March 13 because he had not shown up to court more than once.
The former prime minister challenged the arrest warrant in a local court to avoid being arrested, but he hasn’t shown up to court yet, even though he has been asked to do so many times.
Later, on March 14, Judge Gillani put a hold on the arrest warrants until March 16. On the same day, he also gave the people more time.
Under the Anti-Terrorism Act, a case was filed against the former prime minister for threatening Additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry and senior Islamabad Police officers at a public rally in August of last year.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) then began a case against the former prime minister for disobeying the court.
Later, the high court got rid of the terror charges and let the PTI leader off the hook after he said sorry in the contempt case.
But a similar case was filed against the PTI chief after the first information report (FIR) was filed against him. This case is still being heard by the sessions court.
