ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), a 13-party ruling alliance, demanded strict action against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). PDM called for strict action against PTI for its alleged attack on the Federal Judicial Complex and security personnel. These happened during party chairman Imran Khan’s appearance before a local court in the Toshakhana case.

PTI supporters and security clashed before the PTI president appeared before Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal on March 18. Khan stated the authorities will assassinate or arrest him in the judicial complex.

According to an official statement, Shehbaz Sharif chaired a six-hour meeting of PDM party heads to make the decision.

High-level meeting happened after the premier’s Lahore meeting with PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz

Maryam met with PM Shehbaz to discuss the party’s plan to cope with the PTI chairman, according to officials.

The ruling alliance sharply criticised the attacks on police and Rangers personnel. Security personnels were following with the court’s directives on the PTI chairman’s orders.

The assembly voted to take legal action against lawbreakers in solidarity with state officers and jawans. The session also called law enforcement attacks state hatred, which must be permitted.

According to the declaration, “The entire nation witnessed that the PTI is not a political party but a group of trained militants”.

The meeting also criticised social media smear campaigns against state institutions and COAS General Asim Munir.

“Courts are treating Imran Khan and his advisers unfairly. They are giving him a “bundle package of bail. “We will not accept two different standards of justice in one country,” read the declaration.
