Islamabad: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah stated that the country’s economic and political stability will be affected. It will happen if the Supreme Court did not make a smart decision about the ECP postponing elections in Punjab.
The minister asserted that an imprudent judgement by the nation’s highest court would result in widespread anarchy, disorder, and unrest.
He stated that there were differing perspectives on the election. The parliament had the authority to direct the administration and institutions. “The current administration intends to act in accordance with the Constitution.”
While, The minister of the interior indicated that the electoral watchdog provided the election schedule on the Supreme Court’s orders. The government launched the process in accordance with these directives.
Moreover, Sanaullah contended that the administration was incapable of overturning the orders of the supreme court.
Sanaullah stated that, in the presence of the incumbent administration following the province elections, there would be no level playing field for the National Assembly elections, and that doubts would be raised about the conduct of fair and transparent elections.
The minister of the interior opined that it would be advantageous for the nation if all elections were transparent, fair, and held simultaneously in the presence of the caretaker governments.
