London: Last week, PTI protests staged in London outside Parliament House and 10 Downing Street and in Brussels outside the European Parliament.

During each protest, Imran Khan supporters and Nawaz Sharif opponents chanted. PTI supporters held army chief-criticism posters and yelled against him.

“PTI is actively involved in UK and Europe, so we not needed to say much to people to come out and protest”. Said PTI spokesperson Sahibzada “Chico” Jahangir. Protesters have Pakistani families. They worry because they send billions in remittances home each year.

Mr. Jahangir acknowledged that British Pakistanis are writing to their MPs about happenings in Pakistan and urging them to address the subject in Parliament. British Pakistanis have written to MPs to raise concerns like Covid-19 and red list restrictions on Pakistan to the British Prime Minister.

“We don’t want anything from the international community,” he declared. We demand free and fair elections from Pakistan. In a democracy like the UK, people leave a government that loses their trust. Stability.”

He said PTI delegates in London remind UN authorities and human rights organizations that what is the condition of human rights delivery in Pakistan.

“We’ve fallen so far. We need support from people who understand and built these organizations.”

Protest against fascism

In London, PTI activist Shayan Ali, known for his strong anti-Nawaz campaign, urged supporters to “protest against fascism” outside Mr. Sharif’s Park Lane flat.

He advised overseas Pakistanis to write to their MPs about the situation in Pakistan.

When Mr. Khan removed in April 2022 by a no-confidence resolution, foreign Pakistanis began a campaign similar to the PTI’s.

Before the 2013 elections, thousands of PTI supporters protested to British authorities, including police, about MQM chairman Altaf Hussain.

It caused then-British High Commissioner Adam Thomson to remark that action against the MQM chairman could not be ruled out and that the London police department was reviewing hundreds of British Pakistani complaints.
