Ankara: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities stated that the vast collection of mummified heads discovered in the Ramses II Temple in the ancient Egyptian city of Abydos.

According to the ministry, mummies of dogs, goats. Cows, gazelles, and mongooses that had been sacrificed at the temple were also unearthed.

According to the ministry, archaeologists also uncovered a number of statues, ancient tree fragments, leather clothing, and footwear.

From 1304 B.C. to 1232 B.C., Ramses II governed Egypt for close to seven decades. He revered as a strong warrior and prolific builder who commissioned the construction of temples throughout Egypt.
