Nawazuddin Siddiqui will divorce Aaliya after reconciling. He will drop his billion-rupee defamation suit against her as part of the settlement, according to reports.
According to Hindustan Times, the settlement process will also address other marital disputes, but the couple is trying to avoid a nasty child custody battle.
“Divorce will happen, that’s for sure and I will also be fighting for both my kids,” Aaliya said. I’ll stop Nawaz’s custody request. My kids want to live with me, not him.”
Aaliya’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee, said, “The settlement terms are confidential. The settlement covers more than child custody. Since my client is the biological mother, she will always have custody. Given Mr. Nawaz’s busy schedule, child custody not disputed since my client has had the children since birth.”
He added that Nawazuddin’s lawyer sent Aaliya a “draught proposal” for the settlement, which is a “positive step” towards a peaceful resolution “March 23, 2023, I received the draught. It’s good they’re trying to settle amicably. We will close the matter soon if all issues are resolved for the benefit of all parties, especially minor children. “It is always a moment to appreciate when the parties involved don’t want to fight and settle, especially in matrimonial matters,” he said, adding that their goal is to peacefully resolve issues.
Nawazuddin sued his brother Shamasuddin Siddiqui and Aaliya for defamation this week, seeking 1 billion rupees and an apology. “When it comes to the defamation case, I can only say that we have not received a copy of the same yet. Even before the date of the said suit, Mr Nawazuddin himself has communicated the consent terms for settlement
