‘Joyland’, ‘Kamli’, and ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ win big at MISAFF 2023.

Webdesk: This is a momentous occasion for the Pakistani film industry and local artists! Two of our films, Kamli by Sarmad Khoosat. Joyland by Saim Sadiq, and What’s Love Got to Do with It starring Sajal Aly, are a source of immense pride and pleasure. This week, Mississauga hosted the Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival (MISAFF).

The awards and jury prizes for the four-day Canadian festival were announced via social media on Wednesday. Beginning with the critically acclaimed picture Joyland. While, The festival’s official Twitter account stated that the Cannes winner took home four honours at MISAFF. That includes Best International Film, Best Screenplay, Best Sound Design, and Best Actor (Female).

Moreover, The jury for #MISAFF23 awarded Joyland Best International Feature. Best Writing (Saim Sadiq, Mary Margaret Briggs). Best Sound Design, and Best Actress to Rasti Farooq,” said the caption accompanying the cut-out poster of Alina Khan.

Moreover, Sania Saeed’s performance as a blind woman in Khoosat’s eerie and enchanted film Kamli garnered plaudits in addition to Joyland’s magnificent victory. While, “Sania Saeed, who was an absolute pleasure to have at #MISAFF23, has been named Best Actress for her portrayal in Kamli,” they stated.
