Many Bollywood stars, like Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and others, came to the event and looked and performed beautifully. Zendaya, Tom Holland, and Gigi Hadid, who are famous all over the world, were also at the event.
But there was one thing that got everyone’s attention. The actor from Judwaa 2 called Gigi Hadid up on stage and kissed her cheek as he held her in his arms. Some viewers liked the moment, but others were upset that Dhawan didn’t ask Hadid’s permission before picking her up and kissing her. People were upset and asked questions about Varun’s actions after the video of the event went viral on social media.
In response to the criticism, Dhawan said in a statement that the act had been planned ahead of time. He replied to a tweet by saying that he was going to burst the bubble and that Gigi would be going on stage. “I guess today you woke up and decided to be woke,” the star wrote. “So, I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but she was supposed to be on stage. Find a new Twitter cause to complain about instead of going out and doing something. How are you?”
Since then, Hadid has thanked Dhawan on her Instagram story for making her “Bollywood dreams come true.”
Dhawan also sang the hit song “Jhoome Jo Pathaan” with Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh. He wore a silver vest and black pants. At the event, he was with his wife, Natasha Dalal, and his mother. Even though there was criticism, the gala was a huge success.
