BBC Studios seems to be putting a lot of money into making Indian versions of their popular shows, as nearly half a dozen are already in the works. A report in the Times of India says that the famous Sherlock Holmes is the latest story that the company has decided to adapt.
The report says that the famous detective will be played by Kay Kay Menon and that Dr. John Watson will be played by Ranvir Shorey. Moreover, The show will be directed by Srijit Mukherji. Who is known for directing Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga and Shabaash Mithu. The production will start in April in Kolkata, India, and will be set there.
Moreover, Sherlock Holmes is a character made up by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss created a show based on Sherlock Holmes, and Benedict Cumberbatch played the main role. While, The Indian version of Sherlock Holmes is the latest adaptation of a BBC Studios show in India. Successful shows like Criminal Justice and Luther are also based on BBC Studios shows.
