Islamabad: The military’s media wing reported Wednesday that security forces killed three terrorists in Bajur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during an IBO.
ISPR reported that the militants killed. Guns and ammo recovered on April 11 during a fierce gunfight with security troops.
“…. [the militatnts] remained actively involved in multiple terrorist activities against security forces as well as extortion and target killings of innocent citizens,” the statement said.
“Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to security forces. They also determined to eliminate menace of terrorism from the area,” the ISPR stated.
After a spike in terror attacks nationwide that killed civilians and law enforcement, security authorities have increased operations against terrorists.
With militancy on the rise, the National Security Committee (NSC) launched a full-scale campaign. This is against against militant groups last week to eliminate terrorism.
The committee blamed the current terrorism on a “soft corner for and reckless policy” with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), contrary to public expectations and hopes.
Three terrorists were killed in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in an IBO on April 11. The ISPR stated the three terrorists killed residents and attacked security forces.
