PBS extends the Census 2023 deadline for the fifth time.

The PBS pushed back the date for the seventh population census for the fifth time on Friday. The census is still going on.

The count supposed to done by April 4, but it pushed back 15 days to May 15. At first, the exercise extended until April 10. Its then extended again until April 15, 20, and 30.

Along with MQM-P, Jamat-e-Islami has also said that the census is wrong, especially in Karachi, where they say that not enough people were counted.

A day before the extension, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also told the government to deal with MQM-P’s concerns about the first-ever digital population census as soon as possible. MQM-P is a key ally of the current government, and there were reports that the party had asked its lawmakers to resign.

During a meeting with a group from the MQM-P led by Siddiqui, where the directives given, the premier met with the group.

The MQM-P delegation thanked the prime minister for doing what he needed to do to address many of the party’s concerns.

Earlier, a multi-party conference (MPC) held by the Pakistan Peoples Party, a key ruling party, decided not to accept the results of the country’s 7th digital census if Sindh’s concerns not addressed by the federal government in March.
