Karachi: IBCC Secretary Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah announced on Sunday that the Karachi office has begun QR code credential verification.
Dr. Mallah tweeted: “After Islamabad and Lahore, the IBCC Karachi office also started the process of verification of credentials through QR code, which inaugurated by Secretary IBCC Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah along with his IT team at the regional office today.”
The IBCC secretary said at the inauguration that all work computerised to “reduce people’s worries and bring transparency”.
He added that the IBCC would save millions of rupees on ticket printing.
Moreover, He added that the move would make it easier for institutions and universities in and out of the country to self-verify student credentials via mobile phones.
“This ticket cannot used by anyone else,” he said.
Dr. Mallah told Geo News that institutions will no longer need to contact the IBCC for verification because “all the information will be available on the QR.”
He added that the QR code would prevent students from faking verification because stickers could be removed and used on other documents.
“Planning for QR Code based Attestation system at the IBCC Karachi office,” the secretary tweeted Saturday.
While, Islamabad and Lahore IBCC offices have started QR code document verification.
The IBCC announced online certificate equivalency and attestation in 2020.
To improve service delivery and transparency, all processes automated. QR codes on equivalence certificates ensured quality.
