LAHORE: Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab, is going to start using the “Blue Road” idea. This will make Lahore the first city in Pakistan and Asia to have roads that are good for the environment.
The proposal worked on by the Central Business District Punjab (PCBDDA), also known as the CBD Punjab.
Officials said that the idea meant to update the city’s infrastructure and make life better for its people.
Blue Roads made to be a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional asphalt roads. They have heat monitoring and energy-saving features to cut down on pollution and make the environment healthier.
Moreover, These new roads have a special coating. It will make the sun’s rays bounce back, so the road surface doesn’t get as hot. Also, the reflective coating makes it easier for drivers to see at night, which makes the roads safer.
Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi had asked CBD Punjab CEO Imran Amin to make sure the project done on time.
Imran Amin said, “We are excited to bring the Blue Road concept to Pakistan, which has already been used successfully in the Netherlands, France, and Qatar, among other European and Middle Eastern countries.”
This project will not only help the environment in ways like measuring heat, saving energy, and reducing pollution, but it will also help us reach our goal of making Punjab a modern, sustainable, and inclusive place to live.
Amin said that his group committed to doing projects that improve the quality of life for the people who live there.
“The Blue Road idea was just one of many things the city government was doing to update the city’s infrastructure and improve the quality of life for its people.”
