ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will attend the meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers. It is happening on May 4 and 5 in the Indian city of Goa.

Russia and China are both part of the SCO, which is an eight-country political and security group.

A statement from the Foreign Office says that FM will go to the SCO moot on invitation of Dr. S. Jaishankar, Indian FM

The FO spokesperson said, “Our participation in the meeting shows Pakistan’s commitment to the SCO charter and processes. As well as how important the region is to Pakistan’s foreign policy.”

The foreign minister and a group of officials will take a chartered flight from Karachi to Goa.

The Indian authorities got in touch with the PCCA and decided on the route for the special plane.

In addition to talking about important regional and international issues and signing some institutional documents, the council will finalise the agenda and decisions for the 17th SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting, which will take place in New Delhi on July 3-4, 2023.

At the meeting, memorandums of understanding (MoUs) will be signed with Bahrain, Kuwait, Maldives, Myanmar, and UAE so that they can become SCO Dialogue Partners.

In addition to the SCO, FM Bilawal will also meet with his counterparts from friendly countries.
