ISLAMABAD: At 2 p.m. today, the Supreme Court will hear a plea from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the arrest of party leader Imran Khan.

The case will heard by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Umar Ata Bandial, along with two other judges, Athar Minallah and Muhammad Ali Mazhar.

The PTI had challenged the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) ruling that the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) arrest of party leader Imran Khan was “legal” by filing a petition with the Supreme Court the day before.

At first, the case sent back to the PTI with objections from the registrar’s office.

The registrar’s office said that the PTI leader did not go to the right place, but he could make an appeal within the court.

It also said that the letter didn’t have the PTI leader’s signature on it.

But later on Wednesday, the PTI answered the registrar’s office’s concerns and given a chance to heard.

After Khan arrested in the IHC on Tuesday, the PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi called an emergency meeting. It was of the seven-member group to discuss the situation. As well as come up with a plan to get the party chair out of jail quickly and safely.

The top leader of the PTI had said that the party’s plan was to go to the highest court.
