PESHAWAR: An overseas supporter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) arrested after a video of him insulting top police officials went viral.

In his tape, the person, who lives in Saudi Arabia at the moment, heard insulting senior police officers. It is for bringing charges against political workers.

Reports say that a case was filed against Said Wali, who is from Upper Dir, for using bad language against top police officers. It was after a crackdown on the leaders, workers, and supporters of the Imran Khan-led party.

On social media, another video of Wali went popular in which he said that eight FIRs filed against him. He also said that the cases that have been filed are not true.

In the meantime, the cops have refused to say anything about it.

Several PTI leaders, workers, and supporters shared videos, images, posts, tweets, and messages online calling for protests and openly insulting the government, law enforcement, and other state institutions to protest the arrest of their chairman.

Since then, the government has started cracking down not only on people who took part in riots on the streets, but also on people who used hate speech online and helped spread hate and violence.
