Webdesk: Edward James Olmos thought about told he had throat cancer as he told the public for the first time.
The 76-year-old man said on the Mando & Friends show, “This is the first time I’m coming out and saying it in public: I had throat cancer.”
Olmos talked about his most recent session of radiation, which took place last year.
“I just got through reading it. On December 20, I got my last shot. I had just finished my chemo the week before, and I had been getting radiation and chemo for a long time while the cancer was attacking my throat.
“I still have a bump right here on my throat where they burned out my lymph nodes when they radiated this area,” he said.
The singer also said something about how the doctors didn’t know what was wrong with his voice.
“I had five doctors, and right before I started, they would say, ‘There’s only one thing we have to tell you: we don’t know what you’re going to sound like,'” he said. “I said, ‘What?!’
