Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan thanked the government Friday for placing him and 600 party leaders and MPs on the no-fly list, saying he has no plans to travel abroad.

According to sources, Khan and hundreds of PTI leaders were added to the FIA’s PNIL. It is to prevent them from travelling abroad for their involvement in the May 9 violent riots.

The PTI head tweeted, “I want to thank the government for putting my name on the ECL. I have no plans to travel abroad.”

Imran Khan said he does not have “any properties or businesses abroad nor even a bank account outside the country.”

Khan said he will vacation in the country’s northern mountains, calling them his “favourite place on earth.”

“My favourite place on earth is our northern mountains,” he said.

Moreover, According Pakistani sources, Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi is on the list, along with PTI lawmakers Murad Saeed, Maleeka Bokhari. Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, Qasim Suri, Asad Qaiser, Yasmin Rashid, and Mian Aslam Iqbal are also in the list.

According to sources, some PTI leaders and office bearers sought to leave the country in the last three days but were stopped at airports.

The police, CTD, and intelligence services gave their names to prevent them from leaving.

Since May 9, thousands of PTI employees and leaders have been detained for their alleged role in the rioting that killed at least eight people and injured hundreds.
