Aima Baig sues news portal for Rs100 million in slander.

Webdesk: Aima Baig has spoken out against a local media site that incorrectly published on an old interview of hers.

According to the media site, Baig had a crush on her older brother. This statement prompted the singer to serve them with a legal notice.

In response to the “shameless yellow journalism” and claims levelled against her, Baig posted images of the court record on her Instagram story, urging her industry peers to stand up to “fake reporting”. According to the affidavit, the media outlet purposefully lied to the public in order to malign Baig.

According to the document, the media outlet made an incorrect, misleading, and scandalous allegation about Baig. It also “spread the fake news” that she had a crush on her elder brother. Document stated, a clear and impartial hearing of the old interview referred to by the media outlet would show unequivocally that Baig never made such a comment.

While, The defamation suit asked the publication for Rs100 million in damages and a written apology. Moreover, The false news report must also be removed.

Baig’s actions have won her supporters and colleagues in the entertainment sector. All of them praised her for standing up against fake news and yellow journalism.
