Lahore: Anti-corruption establishment Punjab has started an inquiry against former provincial health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid to investigate the corruption of billions of rupees in Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC). According to the spokesperson of Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab, the former provincial minister has been summoned today at 12 noon.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid accused of accepting bribes in parking, canteen and cleaning contracts while the Executive Director PIC Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin, MS Dr. Muhammad Tahsin investigated for giving crores of rupees bribe to Dr. Yasmin Rashid and taking her expenses. While, AMS Purchase Dr. Shakeel and AMS Store Pharmacy Dr. Masood Nawaz also summoned by Anti-Corruption Punjab along with Dr. Yasmin Rashid.
The accused also caused loss of more than one billion to the exchequer by purchasing stunts at high prices and taking commission by violating the PEPRA rules, besides stealing goods worth crores of rupees from the store of PIC, including heart batteries.
Moreover, Anti-corruption establishment Punjab has also started an inquiry against Tehreek-e-Insaf’s former member Punjab Assembly Naeem Ibrahim and Pir Ahmad Shah Khaga. Former MPA Naeem Ibrahim, with the connivance of the staff of the Finance Department, built his Dera by illegally occupying 17 marles of government land worth Rs. Former MPA of Tehreek-e-Insaf Ahmed Shah Khagah took bribes in education department in Pakpattan. Pir Ahmad Shah Khagah recruited various people by charging 7 lakh rupees per post, while with the connivance of the officers of the education department, people over the age limit were recruited.
