All-Parties Conference (APC) Postponed Due to Premier’s Visit to Turkey to Offer Condolences
On Tuesday, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced that the all-parties conference (APC) which was summoned by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been postponed as the premier will be traveling to Turkey to offer condolences to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the recent devastating earthquake that hit the country.
As the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria had a magnitude of 7.8, it claimed the lives of over 4,300 people and injured many others. The Prime Minister will be expressing his condolences to the Turkish President and the people of Turkey for the destruction caused by the earthquake and the loss of life.
Marriyum Aurangzeb mentioned that the APC has been postponed due to the Premier’s visit to Turkey and a new date for the meeting will be announced after consultation with the government’s allies. This is the second time that the APC, called in response to the Peshawar mosque attack, has been postponed by the government. The APC was initially scheduled to take place on February 7th but was later changed to February 9th.
