n the cities of Karachi and Mirpur Khas in Sindh, attacks took place on four branches of ‘KFC’ and ‘Domino’s’ during protests in support of Palestine, resulting in three cases being filed, and 24 individuals were arrested for vandalism and arson.
The first incident occurred in Karachi on Khayaban-e-Ittehad Korangi Road, where angry individuals attacked the ‘KFC’ branch. A case was filed on the complaint of the branch manager, stating that around 50 agitated people entered the branch armed with sticks, hammers, and bricks on Tuesday evening and started damaging the property.
According to the manager, no one in the branch was harmed, but furniture and LED screens were damaged. After the vandalism, when the manager went outside, he saw that the nearby Domino’s Pizza branch had also been damaged, with people breaking windows and stealing cold drinks.
Karachi Police’s DIG Asad Raza told BBC Urdu that approximately 10 arrests had been made in this incident, and that the attackers had been encouraged by a Facebook page promoting attacks on fast-food shops. He added that members of the religious and political group Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan had visited the police station to demand the release of the arrested individuals.
