LAHORE – Monday marked the beginning of a five-day anti-polio vaccination campaign in Punjab and Sindh.
This vaccine drive will target more than 21.54 million youngsters under the age of five. Due to the ongoing seventh national census, the vaccine campaign will occur in two phases.
Target is to reach almost 17 million children in thirteen districts of Punjab, sixteen districts of Sindh, and Islamabad.
The second phase would begin on the third of the following month. In that phase, target is to vaccinate about 4.12 million youngsters in 12 Balochistan districts and 26 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts.
The Minister for National Health Services, Abdul Qadir Patel, has advised parents to ensure that their children obtain the lifesaving polio vaccine so that they are protected against poliovirus.
The Sehat Tahhafuz Helpline 1166 and WhatsApp Helpline 0346-777-65-46 will be available to assist parents and caretakers in reporting missing children and obtaining relevant information.
