Dubai (International News): In the United Arab Emirates, three individuals have been sentenced to death, while a fourth has been given life imprisonment for the abduction and murder of Israeli citizen Zvi Kogan.
According to Arab media reports, the murdered Israeli citizen operated a grocery store in Abu Dhabi. The victim, a Moldovan-born Israeli, was also an active member of the Jewish Chabad community. Zvi Kogan was abducted and killed in November 2024, leading to the arrest of four suspects.
The primary convicts, identified as 28-year-old Olimpi Tohravich, 33-year-old Azizbek Kamilovich, and 28-year-old Mahmudjan Abdurahim, are Uzbek nationals. Based on their confession and substantial evidence, the court sentenced three of them to death, while the fourth received life imprisonment.
It is noteworthy that the UAE has normalized diplomatic relations with Israel, leading to growing business ties between the two nations. However, since Israel’s offensive on Gaza began in October 2023, incidents targeting Israeli embassies and citizens have increased worldwide.
