Tehran (International News) – Following U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat of military action against Iran, the country’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, has issued a strong response.
Trump had warned that if Iran fails to agree to a nuclear deal, it will face airstrikes and severe economic sanctions. In reaction to this threat, Ayatollah Khamenei stated that hostility between the U.S. and Israel against Iran has always existed, and if the U.S. takes such an action, it will receive a severe retaliatory blow.
He further warned that if any attempt is made to incite rebellion within Iran, the Iranian people themselves will respond to it.
It is worth noting that Trump had previously sent a letter to Iran in an effort to persuade it to accept a nuclear deal. However, Iran’s Supreme Leader and President Masoud Pezeshkian responded by stating that Iran will not engage in direct negotiations with the U.S., although indirect diplomatic channels remain open.
