Kyiv (news editor) Ukrainian authorities have said that Russia has returned 528 bodies. According to media reports, the bodies have been identified as Ukrainian soldiers.
Kyiv added that as a result of repatriation efforts, the bodies of 528 killed personnel were returned to Ukraine. On the other hand, Russian authorities said that the bodies could be those of Ukrainian soldiers. A day after the exchange of 205 prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine, a Ukrainian prison said that investigators and experts are taking all necessary steps to identify the bodies repatriated. It should be noted that last Friday, US President Donald Trump had announced a three-day ceasefire in the Ukraine war from Saturday to Monday and also announced the exchange of 1,000 prisoners from each side. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the prisoner exchange is the first stage of the exchange announced by Trump.
