Webdesk: After months of rumours, Dylan Sprouse proposed to Barbara Palvin in September 2022.
V Magazine interviewed the After We Collided star and the Hungarian model about how they fell in love and why they kept their engagement a secret.
The couple announced they would marry in Hungary, where Palvin’s extended family lives.
“Our mutual roasting when we first met,” Sprouse told his twin brother Cole on Zoom, “something that left a lasting impression.”
“I fell in love,” Palvin said. “We started talking about [Japanese manga series] Naruto and then he did an impression.”
The couple discussed why they didn’t announce their engagement earlier despite media leaks in March.
“There’s a lot of demand from the general public for full transparency, which is funny to me because no relationship is fully transparent,” Sprouse said.
“This article, particularly, timed up to our engagement announcement, right?” he said. We got engaged how many months ago?
“We engaged in September,” Palvin interrupted Sprouse, “We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about the aspect of our engagement.”
“Stephen and the V team wanted to develop something tongue-in-cheek about private versus public. Perception is our game.”
