Lahore: PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a press conference in Lahore. During that he stated that the installation of Section 144 is “baseless”. He also mentioned that the candidates who wish to run for election in Punjab will file their nomination papers today.

He said, “We are kicking off our election campaign and in such a situation. The imposition of Section 144 is not acceptable.”

He stated that his party would move the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Lahore High Court (LHC) over the action. He asserted that the “administration wants confrontation,” and he stated that this would happen.

According to him, Babar Awan was going to visit the Chief Election Commissioner, Sikandar Sultan Raja, in the morning and notify him that the limitation that was imposed was “groundless.”

Qureshi requested that party members arrive at Zaman Park, which is the location of Khan’s mansion, before 2:00 p.m. He stated that Khan himself will be in charge of leading the demonstration.
