Webdesk: Heavy rains in Thailand are likely to cause flash floods and landslides in the Thong Pha Phum and Sangkhlaburi areas of Kanchanaburi.
Ronnaphop Wiangsimma, the deputy governor of Kanchanaburi, says that this warning is in line with what the Thai Meteorological Department has said about heavy rains in the north, northeast, central, and south.
He said that flash floods and runoffs could happen in the two areas at least until Tuesday.
He also said that related agencies in two districts had told to keep an eye on the situation with the heavy and piled-up rain. Which could hurt people, according to The Star.
“Runoffs and landslides can happen in lowland areas, while flash floods are likely to happen on the slopes.”
He also said that officials told ready to help victims at any time. Related agencies have told to warn people to get ready for the situation with resources, tools, and plans.
Ronnaphop told people in the area to listen to the radio and check weather reports and news from government agencies.
The government says that people who need help can call the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
