KARACHI: Former CJP Saqib Nisar stated he met former ISI chief Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hamid multiple times.
The former CJP said that he first met the former spy chief about missing people. After that, he continued meeting him.
Judge (retd) Nisar also said he refused Imran Khan’s request for NAB case advice.
Former CJP said he saw PTI head twice.
“The first meeting was when he was prime minister and the second after,” stated the former top judge.
The PTI chief sought his counsel on failing NAB cases in the first meeting. The outgoing prime minister had requested Nisar to recommend a successor for accountability czar Shehzad Akbar.
The former CJP advised the former prime minister to make his own decisions, not advise him. On his second meeting, the former CJP instructed the PTI chairman not to discuss midnight court openings.
He encouraged Khan to avoid criticising the judiciary to maintain it.
In the interview, Justice (retd) Nisar said he has no communication with current judges.
He met General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa twice. “The former army leader met in Lahore for the second time since giving.”
Moreover, Bajwa told the former CJP he came to Lahore to visit friends. He denied discussing General (retd) Bajwa with Imran Khan.
‘Justice persecution’
While PML-N insults continue, Maryam Nawaz calls him “Baba Dam,” according to the former chief justice.
Nisar said he was persecuted for justice. He said Maryam Nawaz’s “anti-judiciary comment” was aimed to promote political instability and satisfy her vested interests.
The former top judge believes the PML-N targeted the judiciary because it failed.
He said the PML-N expected him to honour his old relationships as chief justice, but he committed to justice and was attacked after retirement.
He said it was awful when a child became ill-mannered and couldn’t talk to an adult.
Former CJP’s children laughed at his PML-N rebirth. He couldn’t refute Maryam Nawaz and PML-lies. N’s Two PML-N defamation attempts had failed.
“A fake audio tape and Justice Shamim were the first two attempts,” he claimed.
